But you may try to install the driver in Program Compatibility mode and check if it helps. As for the new version of Skype, it is my opinion that it is not very user friendly, regardless of what Microsoft has to say. So just for fun I ran compatibility again, selected vista. However, when I did a compatibility check before upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, there was no mention of any conflicting lifedam and now I am unable to use my webcam.

Maintaining updated Microsoft LifeCam VX software prevents crashes and maximizes hardware and system performance. So I don't know what mkcrosoft problem is however it appears that windows 10, compatibility mode, selecting all previous windows programs, somehow triggers something from those programs to get it working, I upgraded from win7, however at first it worked in windows xp, and then windows8 compat. My camera is on now and working fine, except for audio record.
